Goode Company launched fried chicken spot Goode Bird

Houston’s seen an explosion of fried chicken joints lately, and now one of the city’s best-known restaurant families is getting into the yardbird game. Levi Goode, chef and owner of Goode Company Restaurants, launched Goode Bird on July 12, a to-go-only restaurant focusing on Southern-style fried chicken and other made-from-scratch comfort food, according to a press release.

Other dishes include spit-roasted chicken, green chili cornbread, fried okra, beans and rice and Brazos Bottom Pecan Pie. Goode Co is donating 1% of all proceeds from the restaurant to Houston charities. Goode Bird will operate out of Goode Co’s Armadillo Palace on Kirby Drive. Diners can place orders by calling (713) 999-4180 or through the Doordash and Grubhub apps.
