Late night deli Katz’s now open in the Heights

Montrose holdout Katz’s now has a third Houston-area location. The newest addition to the late-night restaurant and bar opens today, September 15, at 2200 North Shepherd Drive, CultureMap reports. Expect the same New York deli-style dishes Katz is known for, including Reuben sandwiches, Buffalo chicken, Kosher hot dogs and more. The restaurant, famous for its slogan “Katz’s Never Kloses,” will begin 24-hour service on September 22. The first Houston Katz location opened on Westheimer in 1998, and a second location opened in The Woodlands in 2007.

Roostar opens delivery-focused ghost restaurant

Vietnamese grill Roostar will open a sister restaurant next to its Spring Branch location that will focus exclusively on delivery and catering, according to a press release. The restaurant’s owners launched a funding campaign for Roostar Factory, to be located at 1411 Gessner Road, last week and have already met their goal of $150,000. The news comes just a few weeks after Roostar, known for its creative banh mis, announced it would open a location on Navigation Avenue. No word yet on when Roostar Factory will be open.

Bistro 555 debuts in former Bistro Provence digs

Bistro 555, a new restaurant from chef and Bistro Provence founder Genevieve Guy, opens today at 13616 Memorial Drive. The restaurant will focus on modern French cuisine, with a rotating menu that focuses not just on Provence, but the many French regions in which Guy, who was born in Alsace, has lived and traveled. The name 555 reflects the menu’s limited structure, which includes three courses — entrée, main course and dessert — with five choices each. Examples of dishes include artichokes cooked with bacon and white wine, rillettes with hazelnut pate, and rabbit topped with an oregano-mustard sauce. Bistro Provence was open for 22 years before Guy made the transition to Bistro 555.
